City of London Academy
Kemp London is currently appointed as the main contractor for the City of London.
Bespoke signage was commissioned by the City of London Corporation for the newly opened Islington Academy. The City provided the artwork and asked Kemp London to design and produce a three-dimensional academy crest for the building’s exterior to herald its academic prestige.
Using the artwork provided, the Kemp London team sculpted a clay master of the crest, from which moulds were created. These moulds were used to cast the final fibreglass version of the crest, which was spray-painted, and the text underneath built-up in brushed stainless steel. The Kemp team carried out the job from technical conception to installation, and completed the project by fitting the crest onto an internal steelwork structure at high elevation.
