We were excited when Mission approached us to work with them on an upcoming top-secret Nokia-sponsored event, especially after the success of the previous year’s multimedia promo event for the Nokia 4D. To celebrate the UK release of Nokia’s new Lumia phone models, Kemp London teamed up with the mobile communications giant on their large-scale promotional campaign featuring lights, lasers, music, and world-renowned electronic DJ deadmau5.
Nokia wanted to create an immersive, electric atmosphere for the secret late-night event they had scheduled, so Kemp worked with the company on a plan that would both creatively light up the outdoor area and promote the Nokia brand.
Custom-made neon light fixtures and internally illuminated lettering were fabricated, built, delivered and installed by the Kemp London team in advance of the big day.
As crowds gathered under the London Shard, deadmau5 suddenly appeared on a rooftop DJing, as the hidden light fixtures we had installed in the surrounding windows began to light up in time to the music. At the same time, illuminated bins, lampposts, and even the graffiti on the walls came to life. Trucks drove through the crowd carrying disco balls and enormous bespoke neon lettering spelling out ‘NOKIA LUMIA’. These trucks went on to tour the entire UK, promoting the company’s new product in bright lights.
The event culminated in deadmau5 riding through the crowd on an LED BMX: an unforgettable finale.
