Pokémon
Pokémon Detective Pikachu is the first live-action film to come out of the monumental Japanese franchise. When the producers needed a host of neon artwork and signage to bring the Pokémon universe into reality, Kemp London stepped up to the challenge: we created a huge array of set pieces across a tight six-week schedule.
Kemp London produced bold signage with built-up lettering for Ryme City Police Department, and internal and fascia neon signs to embellish Hi-Hat Café (a favourite haunt of Harry Goodman and Detective Pikachu). On the streets of Ryme City, our large-scale projecting signs and neon props can be seen.
Rivington Street in Hackney provided the location for much of the filming. The area was closed off to the public for a weekend and our creations were lowered onto the building facades by crane.
