Matthew Lacroix – SILENCE
Silence is the second of two commissions Kemp London completed for artist Matthew LaCroix, whose conceptual art pieces have created waves across London.
This particular piece was created as part of the interior refurbishment of a restaurant located in London’s West End. LaCroix envisioned a combination of antique and modern elements to echo the restaurant’s contemporary-meets-rustic cuisine and décor.
This effect was created by fitting a set of white neon text – produced to particular specifications by Kemp London – over old maps that had been fixed to the wall. The light created by the neon gave the maps an ethereal, multi-coloured glow, lending unique ambience to the interior and giving diners something to ponder while eating.
Kemp London enjoyed the opportunity to assist up and coming artist LaCroix in his personal and commercial endeavours and continues to offer support both to new and established artists.
