Seeing neon as art

19.05.2017

KEMP London provides the most beautiful neon art UK based buyers could ever hope for. Our team are passionate and have been working with the medium for many years. As a result we have a level of experience that is unparalleled. Couple with this our fantastic creativity and you have the makings of a piece of artwork that will grab attention for all of the right reasons.
The great thing about neon is that the bright colours and light make even the most basic pieces incredibly beautiful. As the size and complexity increases they become even more eye-catching, especially when the design invokes a reaction from the audience.

Neon art can add light and colour to any kind of setting, from a shop or restaurant to a theatre stage or art exhibition. Whatever the space or the placement of the piece, it will draw the eyes to it. This is even more apparent when the colour stands outs.

The lights in neon signs can be several different colours. This occurs because the glass tubing can be filled with different noble gases or mixtures of them. When an electric current is discharged through the gas the atoms are stimulated by the magnetic field. The end result is a glow.

Generally the gases used in neon art include;

Neon – glows an attractive reddish orange
Helium – gives off a beautiful golden red
Argon (or mercury) – a light blue glow
Krypton – produces a silver shade that can be tinged with red
Xenon – a bright purple
Carbon Dioxide – a paler off-white

Even more colours can be created by mixing these elements and adding others such as phosphorus. In total there are over 150 different shades to choose from. The choice is which you want to use and how carefully the elements need to be handled.

The KEMP London team are committed to providing the highest quality neon art UK based buyers can choose. We have fantastic designs and always ensure a great finish. Whatever your design ideas we can recreate them for you in the right size and with impeccable detail. Contact us today to speak to a designer.
